Street Party

Like many another school we've gone a little Royal Wedding crazy this week. Having only a couple of days back after Easter followed by another four off, The Wedding has been a perfect cross-curricular mini-topic. Students have been studying love poetry and the history of royal weddings, composing Wedding Music, weighing carats, making cartoons and jewellery as well as bunting, hats, food, plates and flags culminating in a "street" party this afternoon.
I thought I'd have another stab at a timelapse to capture the event - this time with a static camera. So, with faithful iphone and blutack in hand I opened a second floor window overlooking the courtyard (causing a line of bunting to sag somewhat). I fastened my phone to the window frame as well as I possibly could and set the time-lapse running...
It was a little hard to concentrate on the events for worrying that my phone might decide to make a vertical bid for freedom. I also recorded Pantastix, our steel band, and the combination of music and motion give a rather nice  impression of a jolly afternoon in Newmarket. The video was filmed, edited and uploaded directly to YouTube  with the phone...
